[edit] ((Undergoing Massive Rewrites and Updates. All Information Subject to Change))

A revolutionary army made up of mutants, metas, and others working together to force the world into a wake up call. IE fights against oppression in all of its forms, putting them at odds with traditional Heroes and Villains alike.

Inevitable Evolution is dedicated to bringing about a better world by any means necessary. To this end, their members engage in illegal activities for the purpose of furthering their agenda.

In some ways it's not even appropriate to call IE a true "Villain" group as their eventual goal is not one of taking over the world, destroying the world, or only bettering themselves. The goal is a reformed society that banishes things such as poverty, discrimination, and oppression.

[edit] Origins and Establishment

Inevitable Evolution began as the brain child of two mutants, Run Riot and Woefull, who felt isolated within the larger community of the Isles existing at that time. Mutants were limited in number and commonly derided as being subordinate to the other creatures and powered beings throughout the world. Strengthening each other with their individualism, idealism, and indomitable personalities, the two formed a revolutionary movement initially intended to serve as a mutant shelter and advocacy group against those who would persecute them.

However, the movement refused to be restricted only to mutants, as it quickly became clear that the Rogue Isles was home to many other individuals and free-thinkers who resented oppression, exploitation, and persecution, despite being popularly considered criminals. These were revolutionaries who never desired anything more than to live according to their own desires and philosophies, despite what conventional society might condemn or Arachnos' regime might attempt to enforce. So, IE opened its doors to any being willing to take up the charge to fight for individual rights, and to condemn those who would infringe upon them.

To this day, IE continues to pursue these goals, actively and enthusiastically taking the fight for liberty and individual agency directly to those who would crush such dreams. If you think you're ready for the challenge, we ask that you step forward, look the enemy in the eye and declare for yourself and those at your side, "No more."

[edit] Coalitions

Inevitable Evolution is known to associate with several other groups.

Ghost Hound: Ghost Hound and IE have a proud long tradition of supporting one another. Ghost Hound is the Isles "G.I.Joe" and "A-Team" to IE's "Authority" and "Storm Watch". The Two organizations worked hand in hand to fight against Arachnos, and other oppressors of the people of the Isles, and even saved the world working together at least once.

Phoenix Insurrection:

Requiem's Decree:

A.N.N.E.X.: A.N.N.E.X. is one of many new alliances forged recently though one of Rezz's contacts, the Soulless Titan. While Rezz doesn't know too much about the organizations founder, Alexander Zegai, Rezz trusts Gabriel's judgement, as well as the man, himself.

The Templar Order:

The Rogue Isles Protectorate: Anna Crane, leader of the brave group of heroes who've chosen to take the fight straight to the Rogue Isles, approached Rezz after hearing of his own exploits in the fight against Arachnos, and offered a partnership between the two groups. TRIP, as they like to be called, remains somewhat of a mistery, as there hasn't been much interaction beyond that of the leadership of both groups.

Survivors of Vega: The Vegans are a people IE has come to Ally with. Seeing them as being similar to themselves as strangers in a land where everyone wants to use them, IE has taken it upon themselves to Help Queen Xena and the Vegans, assisting them in finding a new home.

Weapons Union: A mercenary organization IE is known to keep close ties with, if for nothing else then to keep contracts from being taken out on IE by this group. Some have joked that the reverse is actually the truth of the arrangement.

[edit] Rules

As a Revolutionary Movement and Army, IE has a few rules it follows to keep things flowing smoothly.

[edit] Directive One: We're all in this together

First and foremost, if we want to turn this world into something we can be proud of, we need to work together. Though we might come from different backgrounds, different families, different cultures, or even different planets or realms of existence – the members of IE are bound by a belief in something larger than themselves. Trust your fellow revolutionaries as much as yourself, they will be your right hand and your backbone. No movement can survive the erosion that distrust and bickering can cause, and the resentment those personal grievances can cause is often the weak link our opposition will choose to exploit. The debating and discussion of new and challenging ideas should always be welcome; but the moment a rational exchange of ideas and ideals devolves into derision and slander, the movement faces a threat more dangerous than an army of super-powered villains or alien invaders. When the Movement presents a solid and unified front against those who would subvert or destroy the Vision, they will find us unbreakable.

Aggression will be responded to with reciprocity. More than a movement, more than an army, the members of Inevitable Revolution are a family. Although we may lack commonality in origin or experience, our struggle binds us together as tightly (or more tightly ) than those of birth, nationality, or other fractitious associations. As such, Inevitable Evolution presents a union of intent and action which seeks to preserve and protect itself as much as those outside their ranks. Those who seek to harm us will find that the Movement is more than solitary, expendable soldiers treated as disposable fodder. A strike on one member is indistinguishable from an assault on all members. Be assured that Inevitable Evolution will return aggression with definitive action and retribution - with interest. As our founder explained, "If someone spills a drop of our blood, we spill a pint of theirs." By declaring this Directive, we provide our opposition with the only warning they will ever receive.

[edit] Directive Two: Do Not Abide Oppression - You Can Make A Difference

"They hadda null'fyer gun...B't I stole 't." --Ink Dyne

Inevitable Evolution is a proactive resistence and revolutionary movement. Its every effort struggles against oppression and exploitative power regimes for the sake of the world and future generations, particularly those in the Rogue Isles. This means when a member of IE encounters a form of injustice or oppression, and can do something to bring it down, they are pledged and obligated to combat it any way they can. This could encompass a wide range of activities, for example:

  • Prosecuting those terrorizing a minority family
  • Rescuing creatures being experimented on by Crey Industries,
  • Opposing and implicating rogue Longbow agents using excessive force,
  • Destroying slave labor sweat shops, or organizing trade and labor unions,
  • Toppling corrupt officials and exploitative corporations

Even minor, every day acts of protest and conscience make a difference. Inevitable Evolution charges its members to resist and oppose even the smallest symptoms of oppression and to inspire those around them to join in the movement. We cannot stop until those in the Rogue Isles and beyond are free.

[edit] Directive Three: Don't Attack Innocents

We aren't monsters, but revolutionaries with a common goal. There is no room in our organization for those who would seek to harm innocents. Our fight does not lie with them, but with those that would attempt to cause them harm - those who seek to prey upon and oppress weaker beings simply because they can.

((Under construction))

[edit] The Ranks within IE

Inevitable Evolution follows a ranking system that is not too difficult to understand. The System is designed to make sure things run smoothly within the group, without also being bogged down with unnecessary bureaucracy.

[edit] Keeper of the Keys (Wearer of the Shiny Hat!)

The Keeper of I.E., Ink Dyne. She has the power to intervene or indroduce input into any decision made by the Directors, as well as the breaker of tie votes when it comes down to Democratic decisions. However, by and large, she is the public face of IE and the 'owner of the store', so to speak.

((Note: on an OOC level, Ink has put in countless time and effort into IE. She's earned this position and the right to a large say in which direction it is to go. Every OOC decision will be run by her and she will assess it fairly. However, ICly, Ink's authority is RPed to be similar to a figurehead, with the management responsibilities actually given to the Directors below her.))

[edit] Visionary

The Visionaries are veteran members who have proven themselves capable of handling large-scale responsibilities, such as acting as adjudicators and mediators between fellow groups, organizing coalitions and major events. ((Also keepers of the websites, VirtueVerse and GuildPortal)).

The Current Visionaries of IE are as follows.

[edit] Architect

The Architects are charged with building the foundation of a better society. This rank is for those within IE who have proven themselves time and time again in battle and in support of their fellows. Examples that other members of IE can look up to, their word is to be taken seriously, and they are the first line to settle any disputes that may arise. They may be involved with base construction or leading task forces. As IE's progagandists, they also recruit members to the group.

[edit] Counselor

This new rank was coined from the necessity to have regularly active group members willing to assist new recruits in settling in and attaining 'Proven' status.

[edit] Activists

Rhose members of IE who have shown they are dedicated to the cause are considered Activists. They are awarded this rank by merit of having given more of themselves. It is the hopes of the higher ranking members of IE that all members eventually achieve the status of activist. (OOC Note: Activist rank is archived through attaining 50K prestige.)

[edit] Comrades

Any member us considered a comrade. While having the least amount of power within the group, the unranked are still afforded respect and camaraderie from their fellows. Members of IE still have a say in the course and direction of the group, and collectively can make their voices heard. Any members can approach a Visionary or Architect to express concerns, just as any other rank can. In the end though, it is the higher ranking members who make the final decisions.

[edit] OOC info

We believe that IE has a very fun, family/community feeling to it on an IC and OOC level. Characters are close, and we the players like to help others out in having a good time. We have an active player base who are always interested in engaging in new stories with one another. Teams for missions, Strike/Task Forces, or help with levelling your character are generally available for the asking.

Inevitable Evolution also maintains a Forum website where we discuss new ideas, help one another out in the game, seed RP plotlines and developments, as well as some forum-based RP. Players can continue to keep up with events across all the servers through the Inevitable Evolution OOC global channel where we talk about ideas, keep in contact on our alts, or even chat about that new cool movie that came out. If you are looking for a roleplay VG that has dedicated, friendly players, and looks at defying law and order a bit differently, then perhaps IE is for you.

I.E. has now adopted a Zero Tolerance policy on OOC drama. Long gone are the days of heated OOC flame wars over trivial problems like IC conflicts. Believe dat, son. THose who break this policy will be dealt with by Rezz personally.

Many common questions and misconceptions about our VG are clarified in the

[edit] Frequently Asked Questions About IE

[edit] Recruitment

By population numbers, IE is mainly made up of Mutant Origin members, but recruits characters of all origins and most backgrounds. However some caveats do apply:

  • For the most part, IE is an Anti-Villain/Anti-Hero group. This means that IE is not interested in truly, exclusively corrupt and evil characters. If a character's motivations are or include oppressing others, conquering the world or civilization by force, the destruction of the planet, or wholesale slaughter of humanity and all life as we know it, etc., the character is not a good match for the themes and plotlines in Inevitable Evolution. Although our group has previously entertained memberships for those with these goals in the past, experience has indicated this can commonly lead to horrible OOC/Meta drama when the malevolent character's aims become known to the populace at large.
  • Characters of a less extreme, generally villainous type (mercenaries, assassins, thugs, organized crime figures, or just plain rogues) are much less difficult to integrate as long as they work within the paradigm set forth by the Vision and directive (as above). It is best if you discuss the character with the Directors in order to provide a very good reason for why they would fit in with Inevitable Evolution and why IE would choose to work with them.
  • Characters of deriving from strange, otherworldly, or unconventional backgrounds (time/dimensional travellers, mad scientists, the mentally unstable) should also discuss their characters to ensure IE can provide the role-playing opportunities that the applicant is looking for.
  • Because Inevitable Evolution is a revolutionary group specifically opposing Arachnos and the other organized crime and terrorist organizations in the Isles, characters intended as spies or moles for these groups will be prohibitively limited. If your character is attmepting to infiltrate IE with this kind of plotline in mind, please contact a leader to discuss this in detail. Please also be aware that the leadership is extremely unlikely to recruit a character with this plotline in mind.

That being said, morally-grey characters are more then welcome. There's a reason that IE is on Villain side after all, as it is a group that often engages in questionable acts to achieve its ends with little or no discussion of the morality of their actions. Even characters who might be conventionally heroic can be integrated, as we have a Heroside sister group that allows transit between Paragon and the Isles. All that we ask is that the characters have room for their perceptions to be changed, and to embrace the possibility that what society is does not have to be what it could be.

[edit] History

[edit] OOC

The epiphany group created by Woefull after her mind became clear. Inspired by a series of conversation with Run Riot.

The original intent was to create a group of mutant super villains. At the time of the creation of this group there were very few groups that did not cater to the vampire/ghost/demon crowd. The few that did demanded and imposed a lesser status on the living regardless of their actual accomplishments.

Since the creation of Inevitable Evolution it came clear very quickly that there were quite a few non-mutants that felt the same way. As well as a few magic types who were discounted because they didn’t drink blood.

Regardless of the original intent, the group as a whole is made up of strong people who want to pool efforts to support each other. Since then the group has evolved quite a lot like its namesake. And carrying on the IE tradition in Riot's stead is the longest-running member of IE, Ink Dyne.

[edit] The Founding

Inevitable Evolution was started awhile back in the thoughts and dreams of Two Mutant friends who felt alone against the world. Woefull was an ever independent soul who could never fit in for long in the places she went. Run Riot was an idealist who never had the courage to carry out his own plans alone. The two met through a chance encounter and struck up a friendship based on their mutual respect of never backing down.

Over a series of trials and tribulations, the two further noticed that mutants everywhere seemed to be at the mercy of the other individuals and groups that existed over the Rogue Isles. Specifically they had issues with the many vampires that seemed like a constant plague that walked about the isles. Conversing more, Riot came up with a name for the group the two would be proud to call their own.

Shortly later, Woefull took the initiative and founded Inevitable Evolution. She tracked down Riot, who after clearing things up with previous employers, came on board as Co-leader of the Revolutionary movement.

From there the two began recruiting Mutants everywhere who were tired of being used as the pawns and fodder of others. It was clear there were many others beyond just Mutants who were tired of being taken advantage of, who were tired of being made into pawns. There were others who wanted a place to call their own home, and to fight against those who would use them for their own gains. Thus I.E further opened its doors to non-mutants as well, offering all who needed and wanted it, a place to call their own.

[edit] The End of an Era

The last remaining founder of Inevitable Evolution... the Angry, Rampaging Run Riot has, after nearly two years of Visionary status, stepped down from the leadership of the decidedly infamous rebel group of antiheroes and revolutionaries. The torch has been passed on to his oldest daughter (and the longest running member of I.E.) Ink Dyne.
