[edit] Groups

The group known as Inevitable Evolution.

Supergroup: Inevitable Evolution

Former Supergroups: none

There are at least six different religions [1] that designate Ink as the bringer of Armageddon/the Apocalypse/etc.

[edit] People

[edit] Friends/Allies

  • Run Riot is her adoptive father and the leader of Inevitable Evolution. He mentors Ink, despite constantly being driven up the wall by her antics. They've been around since the very beginning of IE, when Woefull and Riot discovered Ink hiding, feverish, in a shanty town in Mercy. Recently, he seems to have been looking for ways to keep Inky's constant troublemaking in check; she's now much more cautious, knowing she could be looking forward to a judo throw if she gets caught...not that it would hurt her very much at all. She's more upset about actually being thrown ("It's th' PRINCIPL' 'a th' thing!"). Despite how much she mouths off to him and rebels, there are times...when she does display affection towards her adoptive parent. Ink does love him as her father. She's just...Inky. Riot seems to be very happy that she's started calling him "Dad" instead of just "Run".
  • Veridian Vision was Ink's adoptive mother, and did a good bit of spying on the little spy herself. When she died, Ink was heartbroken. On her fourteenth birthday, Riot gave her Veridian's katana. Inky is unusually careful with the thing, and spends a lot of time and effort making sure the sword is always clean and in good shape. She takes Veridian and her memory very seriously, something you wouldn't really expect from Ink...
  • Hallow Finish is another of Ink's adoptive sisters, and is now with The Last Bastion rather than IE. Inky doesn't mind her nearly as much as Belinda, and still loves her. Holly is shy, and is sort of the "younger sister" despite being older than Ink.
  • Jamie Savage is Ink's adoptive brother, also with the Last Bastion. They often have short chats over a private comm channel. Ink still comes around to the Bastion's base to see him sometimes.
  • Jaime Synge is...not really an enemy, and not really a friend. He pisses Inky off and she loves bickering with him [2]. On the other hand, on occasion they share similar points of view, and can get along reasonably well. Furthermore, they share at least one common goal -- annoying Riot. Jaime and Ink don't seem to hold any lasting grudges against each other; the weed incident has been mostly forgotten, and Ink's even grown to tolerate her Jaime-given nickname 'Jailbait'. His personal hygiene or lack thereof is one of her current favorite ways to insult him, with nicknames such as 'pungent pyromancer', 'smelly sorcerer', etc.
  • Colonel Gaunt, for whatever reason, seems to take amusement in Ink's torment of the other members -- probably because he's never been subject to it himself. He even helps with her evil plots, if sometimes only brainstorming. He was partly responsible for the Dye Incident, the Riot Clone Incident, and the horrors of 2008's Christmas, as well as many more minor incidents. Inky once called him hot; given how scarred and such Gaunt was at the time, she was most likely just messing with him. Gaunt has been dubbed her second-in-command, and now she tries to rope him into mischief pretty much whenever he's around -- which isn't often, a fact Inky laments.
  • Tech Kid, or Mark Barrel, is another of Ink's partners in mischief, as well as her current (and so far only) boyfriend. They tend to joke and tease at one another a lot, about various things, not necessarily romantically-related subjects, and to some it may seem like they're constantly fighting; however, both sides are aware it's all in good fun. They are also in a small, perpetual prank war of a similar nature. It's surprising how well they get along, considering that they met one another when Mark tried to steal Ink's stash of cookies, Ink was unable to stop him, and (as she says) "threw quite th' hissy fit". She apologized to Mark the next morning, and they have been at least friends ever since. Blast Asylum greatly enjoys teasing them, but THAT teasing they don't find amusing. Ink laments that Mark often has the upper hand in the prank war, and has dubbed him "Th' one-upp'n king" [3].
  • Raid Engineer Harper is yet another partner-in-mischief of Ink's. She greatly enjoys the company of him and his War Wolf friend Adjutant Agilo, often asking, begging, bugging, or pestering them to let her join their schemes to harass Mind Lord Heba. She will also occasionally ask Harper to join in schemes of her own if she feels his help is needed or if he'd want to help. While she does poke fun at Harper some, she will also stick by him when everyone else starts piling on the "sissy Sky Raider", or if she is present when Dread tries to force blood out of him, and she'd much rather harass James anyway. Ink believes/knows Harper is gay (and, she thinks, for Heba) but chooses not to use this as another way to make fun of him.

[edit] Enemies and such

  • Woefull was the other one who started IE. She and Ink are no longer on speaking terms, and tend to have bird-flipping contests when they see one another.
  • Onteh Marks is nine years old and one of her adoptive sisters. Ink can't stand her. The two are constantly squabbling, competing, and trying to outdo the other, which often results in horrible things since Belinda is almost as chaotic as Inky. If Ink's the fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse, then Belinda is the sixth.
  • Mad Blood Morgan, one of the Weapons Union leaders and generally hated and reviled by the rest of the Coalition, has been the subject of Inky's tormenting on several occasions. Their little war started out just as a chain of revenge that was started by Morgan throwing a cow at Riot but, due to continued insults from "Sharky", he is an enemy and no longer a subject of revenge. Ink and Mark spend a little of their time conspiring against him.
  • Silver Monkey was originally just a rival and, for all the snide remarks, bragging, and ego, an annoyance. She and Ink often have arguments full of insults, twisted logic, and shouting matches over the comm (much to the amusement of the other members). At one point, Soul declared a prank war between Monkey and Ink; Monkey actually did some pranks, while Ink spent the entire week making people tense to build up to the prank she'd reveal at the meeting -- which was that there was no prank, and she'd been making them paranoid over nothing. Despite others' opinions [4], Monkey was judged the winner. Ink has sworn revenge.
  • Jaime Dust, although having only run into Ink twice, is a source of great fear for her. He is one of only two people she finds creepy [5]. The first time she met Dust, her initial impression was more of a "hmm...I don'like this dude" sort of thing but, given that they only met for about 30 seconds, she didn't see a whole lot of Dust. However, at that time, he not only called her his apprentice but mentioned her real name, which slightly unnerved her since it's generally not something she lets people know. Their second meeting was far worse -- Ink had been told some things about Dust, and knew to be wary of him. She saw him standing outside an Arachnos base and fled inside. Much to her horror, Dust followed, and repeatedly found her despite her attempts to hide. Ink describes him as "inexorable". Dust told her she came there for a reason, she had a job to do, and set her to work clearing the soldiers out of the base. At one point, Ink got in over her head and found herself eating floor. Dust brought her back...but not only was it incredibly painful, it showed her an incredible, indescribable, yawning abyss, utter oblivion that haunts her to this day. Dust most certainly did not help the situation by "comforting" Ink in a creepy, Dust-ish way. She was rescued by Mark, but not before Dust gave her another glimpse of oblivion.

She had horrible, screaming nightmares and panic attacks for a week afterwards. She is still intensely terrified of him and tends to do a double take at the word "dust", regardless of how it is used.

"If there ev'r waz a boogeyman, 'is name iz Jaime Dus'."
  • James Perkins is undoubtedly Ink's favorite person to torment. She doesn't actually hate or dislike James at all, and would miss him if he left, died, etc, but enjoys poking fun at him to no end. She is aware he really hates her, and doesn't really care. She also delights in James's many little slip-ups, epic fails, and anything worth mocking him for. At the moment, where things in the Isles are getting to be sort of dead, she considers James her primary source of entertainment (and he sort of is). Despite this, once in a while she and James have been known to collaborate on a prank if they have the same goal in mind -- such as driving away David Denmore[6] or Rickrolling the school dance[7].

None currently.

[edit] Personality

Ink Dyne is a hot-tempered punk with a heart of gold...all right, maybe silver. Or bronze. She's very loyal to anyone who actually earns her respect, and won't hesitate to do something like start an all-out brawl over an insult. She's one of those people who's got a witty remark for everything, who mercilessly assaults her friends with puns, and who can be counted on to unfailingly be both a ray of sunshine and make others bang their heads against the wall.

Ink's very nature contains chaos. One could say she's Mayhem, the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse. It's true that Ink absolutely loves causing trouble, disturbing the status quo, stirring things up, and shocking other people. She may go to extreme lengths to do so, whether it's a horrible prank on another member or destroying a vital part of a city's infrastructure. She's incredibly destructive, especially for one so young, and may fly off to Paragon to wreak havoc just for the fun of it. She cares little for the consequences, figuring someone else will clean the mess up, and believes it's not her problem anyway since she's the supervillain who perpetrated the crime. She's an incredibly irresponsible person, rarely trying to fix anything she does even if she regrets it, and a fan of sweeping messes under the proverbial rug. Some of the traps she never bothered to clean up or get rid of are still in the IE base somewhere, waiting for someone to set them off.

In addition to simple destruction, Inky has no qualms about stealing. Theft is the crime for which she's best known. She'll take anything from donuts to nuclear warheads.

As if all that wasn't bad enough? Ink is a teenager. Rebellious, snide, hungry, even more selfish, and dirty-minded. There are many who wish she would just go back to how she was at twelve. It really doesn't help that Ink is a tested genius (IQ of 143), as stupid as she may act a lot of the time.

[edit] Powers

Her powers come from magical tattoos on her forearms. The tattoos are Tsoo in origin, but of a unique design -- they give her power over plants, rather than the standard Tsoo abilities.

[edit] Plant control

Basic, simple control over plants. Growing trees, vines, etc. There are also a couple unknown/alien plant species she knows how to use.

[edit] The Thorns

Inky can sprout huge, poisonous thorns from her body. She can expel or throw them, and they contain a paralyzing neurotoxin. Those resistant to the poison will merely be slowed down. It can be fatal, but only in large amounts.

[edit] Carrion Creepers

She's found out how to raise carrion creeper vines from the ground. Strangely enough, every time she calls them, they seem to be the same ones. Ink has named them Lusca, Squiddy, Leviathan and Julian.

[edit] "Jaws"

Ink's favorite pet of all is her giant, mobile flytrap, which she's named Jaws. She rarely ever fights without it, and it often follows her everywhere when she's not in a big hurry.

She says the seed was found in another dimension, and that some much, much older extradimensional flytraps gave her the seed in exchange for Lolcat-Socks-Music portal technology. Whether she's telling a tall tale will never be known. Considering the crazy things Ink digs herself into, it's hard to tell.

Jaws is highly intelligent, and Ink taught it to write. It seems to be able to see and hear, though it can't speak. She claims she taught it to write by starting off with the concepts of food and cuss words. Jaws can also use computers and solve Rubik's cubes (among other things), the latter being a skill that Ink's rather jealous of.

It has an odd concept of other beings unlike itself, always referring to itself as "This one" and calling Ink "Ink-entity". It'll usually refer to anybody else as "that one", but will call them by their names if Ink so insists. It seems to be very loyal to Ink, and will do almost anything she says, which mostly involves eating various objects.

[edit] Camouflage

Being very curious, Ink often hides in plants, potted or otherwise, to spy on people. In autumn, however, she is bright orange, and is limited to hiding in deciduous trees.

[edit] Photosynthesis

Ink Dyne has a form where she has sprouted leaves all over and her skin has turned green. In this form, she no longer needs to eat or drink, as she can photosynthesize and absorb water from the air. She usually chooses not to, however.

She discovered, when autumn hit, that she changes color with the seasons.

Ink'z in ur plantz, spyin on ur nayshens (before wings)Ink'z in ur gardin, sheddin on ur hedge

Ink's plant form is affected by the time of year, as are her powers to some extent.

  • January: Pale green or gray skin, no leaves
  • February: Pale green skin or gray, no leaves
  • March: Bright green skin, just enough leaves to cover her body
  • April: Bright green skin, thick growths of spiky leaves on her shoulders, begins releasing pollen
  • May: Bright green skin, leafy wings too small and weak to fly, continues to release pollen
  • June: Bright green skin, full, leafy wings, ceases spreading pollen
  • July: Bright green skin, full, leafy wings
  • August: Bright green skin, full, leafy wings
  • September: Skin and leaves turn orange, begins shedding leaves
  • October: Orange skin, wings shrink, continues to shed
  • November: Orange skin, loses wings and shoulder growths, continues to shed
  • December: Skin turns a pale green or maybe gray, loses leaves entirely

This was the case for a while, but Ink seems to have deviated from this of late, at least in the case of her wings.

[edit] Travel

[edit] Skateboard

Unlike many, Ink really has no way of using superhuman powers to get around. She uses a skateboard.

[edit] Lolcat-Socks-Music Portal Technology

Inky has a unique way of hopping between dimensions, one that requires very little effort. It involves wearing her lime-green socks of eye-burning, holding a lolcat picture in each hand, and singing (she's not exactly the best singer). Exactly which alternate plane the resulting portal goes to depends on exactly what song is sung and exactly what lolcats are involved. Only Inky and that specific race of extradimensional flytraps can do this. All attempts to duplicate this "portal technology" have failed.

[edit] Abilities

[edit] Ink retention

The reason for her villain name and part of the source of her powers. It's not even that much of a mutant power, just a small trait that does almost nothing. She keeps ink and dye in her skin for much longer than most people do, particularly if it is red. Her friends tend to abuse this power, doing things like drawing mustaches on her face with a Sharpie. This ability extends to colored substances in general, not just chemicals specifically made for coloring, and there seems to be more to it, given how it messed with her tattoos. -Exactly- what it does is still unclear.

[edit] Weaknesses and Limitations

Under construction.

[edit] Fragility

Most supervillains have shield generators, regeneration, incredible reflexes, immunities, or immortality.

Not Ink.

For all her skill with plants, for all her bragging and power, Ink is physically still a human girl. She is, to put it bluntly, fragile. She doesn't regenerate, nor does she absorb any kind of damage. She can be bruised, broken, and killed as easily as a civilian (assuming she's not fighting back).

[edit] Equipment

A good skateboard, a fast laptop, and a pair of green-and-yellow socks that are SO eye-burningly bright, they blind anyone who looks at them. Except Ink, but that's because she doesn't have any fashion sense.

The Socks

[edit] Character History

[edit] Just life

Ink was an ordinary (if intelligent and disobedient) girl, living an ordinary life with an ordinary family. She had a younger brother and a younger sister, as well as both parents living. There was nothing tragic or horrible about her childhood, aside from all the things most children have to go through. She was a very social kid, but had few friends. Sarah was rarely bullied outright at all. She was just ignored and shut out. She came to hate other children and teenagers and their vapid, uncreative, boring ways. Sarah was never really "geeky" or "nerdy" outright, but she was certainly unusual, and how much brighter she was brought a little arrogance. To this day, she retains a dislike and contempt for most others in her general age group, preferring the company of those far older than herself. She will make exceptions. Inky almost always judges on an individual basis.

Her sister was equally if not more intelligent, and mature beyond her years. She was often the mediator in many family disputes, especially since her father often favored the younger two over Sarah, and since she could always be counted on to pass fair judgement. Her sister always did have a strong sense of justice, and Sarah wonders if she gained superpowers some way or another and now fights crime. She wouldn't put it past her.

[edit] The beginning of a super-villain's career

After Ink gained her powers via the tattoos, she saw this as her chance. Superpowered beings had always been one of her interests. She could get a flashy costume, go fight crime, defend the city. She would be interesting and lead an interesting life. Though, the superheroing life was a bit too virtuous and self-sacrificing for her. She could just use her powers to take what she wanted. Why not be a supervillain? She could be on top of the world, known and feared, sitting in her fortress and eating donuts, causing mayhem and having a great time doing it. And anti-heroes were, in her mind, just cliché.

She started herself off by robbing a video game store and a computer store. Her DS was broken and she needed a laptop. As with many rookie villains, she soon lost the battle when Longbow showed up in full force. She was quickly thrown in the Zig...

(under construction)

[edit] The Isles

Naturally, she took the first chance to get out she could. When Arachnos went on many of its raids to the Zig, she got out as quickly as possible and wound up in Mercy. Making her name as a supervillain soon proved to be much, much harder than she'd previously thought. Inky soon found herself living on the street; a starving homeless kid. She took up residence in a shanty town in Mercy, pushing the shack's previous inhabitant out and creating a wall of vines to keep others from taking it in her absence. She stole scratchy blankets and flattened pillows, went shamelessly dumpster-diving, anything to make herself more comfortable. Having led the sheltered life of an ordinary child, she had no idea how bad the street could be. Her powers were the only thing that kept her from death or a fate worse than it. Even so, when a stronger super-powered being came along, she moved to a different shanty town to avoid confrontation.

Things only got worse. She became weaker and weaker, continually ill as winter hit, not even leaving her current metal shack. She terrorized a Hellion or two into bringing her food and water [8], but eventually they abandoned their job. Ink was sure she was going to die.

This was when Woefull and Run Riot found her.

[edit] Pranks and Misadventures

See Ink's Pranks.

[edit] Other Inks

[edit] Stink Dyne

Ink Dyne broke into an Arachnos base and cloned herself, partly to see what would happen, and partly to disprove Run Riot saying that the world is not ready for two Ink Dynes. The clone is slightly different, with a lighter green suit. She was named Stink Dyne, since her feet smell worse than Ink's. Stink Dyne is just a little shorter, and has a shorter temper. Ink has taken measures to keep people from figuring out which Dyne is which, such as stepping in garbage to make her feet smelly as well.

Team Kill eventually took Stink Dyne to 'Rank Riot' in an alternate dimension where there was no Ink Dyne. This dimension soon came to be known as the 'potty humor dimension' due to the names of the counterparts of IE's members such as 'Angel Spit', 'The First Person Shitter', etc.

[edit] Praetorian Ink

Praetorian Ink looks much the same as Ink Dyne, and is just as powerful. Praetorian Ink has tiny, leafy wings no matter what the season, and wears a pink dress. Her hair is always up in pigtails. She also carries a kitten called Chell around on her shoulder. Sometimes the kitten is alive; sometimes it's dead and in perfect condition. Chell is an American Shorthair with a gray tabby pattern.

Praetorian Ink is quite insane. Most of the time, she is a perfectly sweet, obedient little girl who giggles a lot. Usually, she is very kind, and quick to apologize if she has hurt another's feelings or otherwise misstepped. The only disturbing thing about her then is how sharply different she is from Ink Dyne, or how she will sometimes smile and giggle when referring to things related to death. Run Riot realized exactly what she was when first talking to him, she giggled and said 'Yeah, but he lets me kill lots and lots of people!' when referring to Praetorian Riot. Apart from a general love of killing and causing others pain, Praetorian Ink will occasionally fly into semi-random, violent fits that make Ink's rages look calm and rational. Her kitten is often killed and preserved during these episodes. Later, she will have a fit of remorse and have Chell revived.

She was admitted into Natural Selection, the Praetorian IE, after Praetorian Riot saw her torture and kill one of the lesser members.

[edit] Sam Cross

Sam Cross comes from a parallel dimension that is nearly identical to Ink's home dimension. Sam is exactly the same as Ink in every way except for his name, and the fact that he is male.

[edit] Horrified Testimonies

(Edit this section with your character's opinions and things on her...Or, considering it's Inky we're talking about, what the title says.)

What can I say? Ink is probably the biggest pain in the ass I have, and paradoxially the biggest source of Joy rolled into one. I don't regret adopting her one bit. Even when she says she Hates me, or plays horrible pranks on me. Later on when she calls me Dad, and hugs me despite her being to "cool" for her Fathers affection, it's all worth while. I'd give my life for her, and I've beaten or killed anyone who's hurt her. Now if I could get her to stop having the damn vines eat the Furniture, be nicer to her sister, stop wearing mesh, and stop subjugating smaller gangs...--Run Riot

Mortal Man Medical Notes- Ink Dyne's physical mutation somewhat perplexes me. Reading through her case files she claims to only have the ability to absorb and store dyes, inks, and other stains with a longer staying time. This somehow led to her gaining plant manipulation abilities after having been tattoed by the Tsoo.

Research into the Tsoo makes it clear that the dyes have a magical nature, one that Ink's mutation most probably shouldn't have effected. The inking process in the case of Tsoo is permanent, retention not withstanding, and the occurrence of plant based powers in their numbers is non-existent. Thus I made it a point to test several magical liquids on Ink Dyne during her physical, disguising them as alcohol swabs, tongue depressants, and eye drops. Results were mixed, but show promise. All magical liquids absorbed at an accelerated rate and initial tests and observations show that their minor effects are not merely lingering, but being altered. The minor healing potion I used, enough to cure a cut, seems to be being supplemented into her plantlike photosynthetics. A small blighted liquid, used to cause a small cut, absorbed itself into the poisons in her spines. The third liquid, a holy oil I had taken from a Legacy Chain member that had blindsided me, energy converted slowly into a sugary sap.

My current theory is that Ink's absorption ability is not merely physical, but mystical in some sense. I am unsure whether it is entirely limited to liquids, limited to magic, or limited in anyway. Further testing will be needed.

((As written in Kat/Twilight's Journal)) Ink is funny. She's one of those who is so mercurial that I can't quite understand where she's coming from. She's whimsical, focused, scattered, loyal, serious, and a host of other things all in turn. Still, I have to admit a secret desire to see what sort of pranks she comes up with next. The mistletoe monster was funny, as was turning Soul and Clint blue.

"Ink's fun cause she acts all tough but has these things shes sensitive too and its fun to pick on her about it. All the same shes a sweet kid, good person and perfect the way she is...just don't tell her I said that"- Blast Asylum

Veridian Vision: "My eldest, she's my first daughter. It took a while to get used to her...well, all of her pranks, but it was worth it. I love Ink, and would do anything to defend or protect her, no matter what. I was honored to learn that she has taken up my sword, and she has done nothing but earn the right to wear it. Even though I can't safely drink coffee around her....or even sit down...I can't imagine how life would be without her as a presence in it. She has shaped me as much as I (hope) I've influenced her.

[edit] Trivia

  • As with most under the age of 20, Ink has a sweet tooth...And, unlike most in that age group, a 'salt tooth' of almost equal severity. She finds most stew a bit flavorless without putting at least a spoonful of salt in first -- after it has hit the table, that is -- and has a love bordering on addiction to salty snacks, be they overly greasy or not.
  • Never wears makeup. Ever. Can't stand its texture or the taste of lipstick, and has almost no idea of how to put it on well anyway.
  • Thanks to Jaime, Ink has snakebite piercings. She doesn't plan on any other piercings or tattoos anytime soon.
  • Is actually Jewish, sort of, and this was before she met Riot. Her mother was Jewish; her father some other religion, the name of which she forgot, but she knows he's of Danish descent. Inky herself has slowly gone to agnosticism, in terms of only beliefs rather than associating herself with 'agnostics'. She has never had a bat mitzvah.
  • Occasionally, Ink can be seen with small loops in her hair. This is a curse she designed herself, from her days in grade school, before she had the power to personally attack her enemies. The curse is done by muttering a certain chant while taking a small lock of hair and twisting it until it loops; the bigger the loop, the worse the curse. Its aim is to inflict general misfortune upon the target. It is not yet known whether this little charm actually has any power.
  • There's a very large and ugly scar that stretches horizontally across Ink's forehead. Normally, it's covered by her bangs. This was gained in a battle with the Empyrean Mandate. She's somewhat sensitive about it.

[edit] Notes

  1. in other dimensions
  2. not that she doesn't love bickering with most people
  3. along with other silly nicknames such as "shock absorber", which refers to the fact that he used to receive a lot of painful electric shocks from his tinkering, and "lightning rod" (don't ask)
  4. especially that of Unleashed Force
  5. the other is Snow Shade, and she doesn't find him nearly as creepy as Dust
  6. A goal that has long been abandoned
  7. James was the only one who got in trouble for this.
  8. at the time, she was unable to grow her own food
