((Major updates needed. I'm so behind on everything because I've been playing Champions Online. ...I'll be back, though. Sometime. Probably.))
"You want to know what it is about Rezz? He's DIFFERENT. He has A BRAIN and he's strong as hell. He's not some drooling, over-hormonal, teenager. Not some emo punching bag. Not some drunk frat kid. Not some all-powerful nether-being. All these guys are a dime a dozen. And then you've got Rezz. There's no one else like Rezz." - Shadowed Nightmare

[edit] Description
Rezz is clinically genius. Now at an IQ of approximately 190, Rezz has been extremely gifted. As a child, he was also blessed with his mutation. A reptilian nightmare, born into a completely 'normal' family. Though proud of their extremely intelligent son, Rezz's parents also feared for him. Because of his appearance, they knew growing up would be rough. That's when they made the decision to home school their son. They provided the best tutors money could buy and gave Rezz everything he needed to succeed. However, as Rezz progressed in life and intellect, his grip on reality began to deteriorate rapidly. He was learning things that normal humans couldn't possibly comprehend. It came to the point where he became a complete shut in. Speaking to nobody, and spending all of his time researching and studying. Realizing that staying home offered nothing to expand his intellect, he left home at the age of 17 to find new information in new places.
Having been home schooled and with basically no human interaction, other than that from his tutors and parents, made life on his own very interesting. Before, there was nothing Rezz couldn’t understand. Nothing too much for his superior intellect… But the one thing Rezz couldn’t understand was human nature. The things he saw confused and infuriated him, sending him further into the depths of insanity. It was in human nature to destroy themselves. Drugs, alcoholism, pointless wars and conflicts. Rezz just couldn’t understand how people could be content being stupid. A vast world of knowledge available to them, and they waste it sitting in front of a television. They willingly destroy their minds on a daily basis and were too ignorant to realize it. Crooked politicians, who were more concerned with making money than making the world a better place. These people were in a place of Power? These people were in charge of the world?! Who were they to tell Rezz what he could and could not do? They were all below him. Rezz fled the greed, corruption, and ignorance that was so abundant in the United States and settled into his new home: The Etoile Isles, where he would formulate a plan to cure mankind of their self-destructive tendencies and usher in a new age of knowledge.
[edit] Affiliations
Rezz spent a large amount of time working with a mercenary group known as In The Loop, which disguised itself as nothing more than a Bar and Grill, but as time went on, they fell more and more into being no more than just that. Having felt more than a little out of place, Rezz took his leave of the group and began to actively search for a new group to affiliate himself with. After months of research on various organizations within the Isles, Rezz stumbled upon Inevitable Evolution and knew he'd found the perfect place. He's grown to like many of his associates, and even calls many of them his friends, a term he doesn't use often, and holds the leadership of the group in high regards. Recent events have caused Rezz to leave Inevitable Evolution for the good of it's members. Rezz's motives and goals have drastically changed and he had a brief stint in the The Notorious Six to further his plans, but due to unsaid complications, has taken his leave of the Six. Rezz is now apparently in the midst of planning something with a select few individuals, though nothing beyond that has been said. After the disappointing failure that was the Notorious Six, Rezz had all but given up on finding an organization that both lived up to his standards and shared his ideals. It was the suggestion of a few close friends that would put the idea of forming his own organization into his head, and after a few weeks of rigorous planning, The Ministry of Order was born. Rezz leads the group with brutal cunning and a merciless intellect that he uses to plan their agenda.
Update: Rezz, as well as the entirety of The Ministry of Order have since merged with Inevitable Evolution, with Rezz as acting leader for both organizations. More details to follow.
[edit] Personality
Rezz is a brilliant, socially awkward, and somewhat pompous mutant geneticist who has experienced the cruelties of mankind first hand. While a sheltered youth, he was still the subject of much ridicule among the ignorant residents of his birth town. The judgmental eyes and words of his peers would shape the young Rezz into a reclusive cynic, which is still apparent in the Rezz of today. If not for his loving parents, gifted tutors, and above all, amazing friends, Rezz would have turned out much... differently.
Rezz is very well mannered, and even though he might be in the process of beating you senseless, he’ll remain a perfect gentleman while doing so. Having been home schooled and sheltered as a child, he somewhat lacks social skills. Rezz suffers from mysophobia (fear of germs), which makes venturing to certain areas, such as sewers, very difficult. Though inconvenient, it makes for some very humorous situations.
[edit] Abilities
Rezz is able to dish out mass amounts of punishment as well as take it. His large wingspan also allow him to take flight, though his size prevents him from flying very fast at all. He’s a natural born problem solver and loves putting his intellect to good use.

[edit] Superior Strength
Rezz loves nothing more than a good brawl. When words just won’t settle a dispute, the shirt and tie come off and it’s fighting time. Though slow, his blows deal a considerably large amount of damage. A punch from Rezz will surely ruin your weekend. Rezz has been documented lifting in excess of 200 tons. Though he has tried, he hasn't found any limit to his strength. The more weight that is piled on, the more he can seemingly lift, calling upon a seemingly limitless amount of strength when forced too.
[edit] Invulnerability
Though not always fun to look at, Rezz’s reptilian appearance yields some advantages. His skin is immensely thick and can repel even the harshest attacks. Point-blank shots from even the most high caliber rifle are laughable, as are most other physical attacks. Rezz's thick hide has yet to be broken or pierced in any way, even when faced with the sharpest of impervium weaponry. This isn't to say that Rezz is immune completely. Though his tolerance to it is very high, it is still possible for Rezz to succumb to sheer blunt trauma, though, said trauma would have to be the equivalent of a meteor crashing into him from space. Good luck.
[edit] Genius Level IQ
At an astonishing IQ of 190, Rezz is as intimidating intellectually as physically. Labeled early on in life as a child prodigy, Rezz was given access to the finest tutors available, and every chance to succeed. Once unsure of where he would apply his vast intellect, his answer would soon blossom out of his own curiosity with what made him what he was... His mutation. The inner workings of his DNA. The genetics behind it all... It didn't take him long, graduating from college with both a PhD as well as an MD is the various fields of genetics and medical science.
[edit] Acid Spit
Part of Rezz's reptile like mutation are highly developed venom glands located at the back of Rezz's throat and surrounded by powerful muscles. Rezz uses these muscles to contract around the venom glands, projecting the acidic venom forward, through his mask(which aids in the distance the venom can reach. The venom does more to dissolve through various materials like steel, flesh, and fabrics than as an actual toxin.
[edit] Weaknesses and Limitations
- Rezz’s already unstable mind is an easy target. With an already loose grip on reality, any toying around can lead to confusion and extreme paranoia. Psychics are amongst Rezz’s least favorite people.
- As stated, Rezz is mysophobic, and any exposure to dirt, germs, or anything unclean will send him into a panic and cause him to flee. You know who you are, and you're all jerks.
- Rezz has trouble breathing without his mask. Prolonged exposure to the unfiltered, polluted air that you lesser beings breath leaves Rezz sluggish and out of breath, effectively making him useless in combat. He will respond violently if his mask is tampered with in any way.
- Rezz has two other weaknesses, one of which is still unknown to anyone. The other he refuses to make any mention of, though a few people have figured it out for themselves... and are also jerks.
[edit] Recent and Not So Recent Events
Rezz has come a long way since first leaving home to strike out on his own in the Isles. The once socially awkward, self conscious, phobia-ridden recluse has become so much more. The friends he's made along the way and the many experiences have helped shape him into what he is today. Some have changed him for the better, others for the worst.
[edit] The Second Rikti War
The Rikti first made themselves known when Rezz had just turned 17. Rezz took little interest in the aliens themselves, but took to guarding his parents and their home with his life. Rezz and his family were fortunate to be completely unaffected by the Rikti War, but after seeing the destruction caused by the aliens, Rezz vowed to take action if and when they ever returned... and they did.
By the time the Rikti returned, Rezz had been out on his own for a while now and more than capable of defending himself. He joined the ranks of the Vanguard, though he mostly worked alone while fighting off the invasion. Rezz fought with a fury he'd never known himself to have due to the fact that he'd done nothing during the first War and felt he owed it not only to those who lost their lives, but to the Rikti that had taken those lives.
[edit] Inevitable Evolution
No man can remain a lone wolf his entire life and Rezz isn't the exception. Growing weary of seemingly taking the world on by himself, Rezz sought other like-minded individuals. It wasn't long until he found the revolutionary group Inevitable Evolution. They were quick to find common ground in that Rezz is a scholar and IE was in need of a teacher. Rezz was welcomed to the group and Rezz quickly grew to think of the group as his second family. Rezz proved himself to be a invaluable member of IE, not only on the battlefield, but in the laboratory and classroom as well. Rezz's genius and willingness to help would soon bring him trouble, however...
[edit] Amanda Vertra
When Amanda, also known simply as 'Vi', and Rezz first meant, they were nothing more than associates. That would all change, however, when Vi would approach Rezz asking for his help to cure her then love interest, Mr. Minion who had been the victim of Tsoo Magic. She'd given Rezz a sample of the ink the Tsoo had used and tasked him with finding a way to reverse the spell the Tsoo had on him. Now, Rezz knows next to nothing about magic and does what he can to avoid it. His philosophy after all, is 'if it cannot be explained through science, I don't bother with it', however, he was determined to contribute whatever he could. He worked very closely with Vi for the next few weeks and had done something he'd not only never done before, but something he never thought possible. He became emotionally involved with his work. Rezz wouldn't say anything to Vi, however, not wanting to face rejection, or interfere with her relationship with the person they both were trying to save. One faithful night, while doing a bit of research in Rezz's office/classroom, Vi admitted to having similar feelings. Rezz couldn't be happier at this point, but his joy would be short lived. He was now conflicted… He was now working to save the man that would ultimately end anything that could have been between the two. A man of his word, Rezz would put his personal feelings aside and work to bring Sykes back. As if the situation wasn’t bad enough, after all was said and done, and Jason was back to normal, Vi had almost completely forgotten about Rezz and the two rarely spoke. It was torture for Rezz. Vi would eventually leave IE altogether, further cutting Rezz off from seeing or even talking to her. He was quick to fall into a slump from which he would not soon recover. Things only went downhill from there…
[edit] Catherine Blake
Catherine Blake, or ‘Cat’, as most know her, was someone whom Rezz could easily relate too. She had a similar mutation, in that she had a slight reptilian appearance. The two were strictly friends from the start. Cat had a boyfriend and Rezz was a nervous wreck around women, anyway. Behind the scenes, however, things between Cat and her then boyfriend were on the rocks, and the two were showing signs of a break up, all the while, cat had been harboring feelings for Rezz. She would confess said feelings at the worst possible time. She’d come forth with her feelings soon after things between himself and Vi had taken a turn for the worst. Cat and Rezz would remain friends, but certain events would cause Cat to feel hurt and neglected. She would flee to her parents in order to calm her nerves and would incidentally lead Arachnos troops to their location which would ultimately result in the death of her parents and the forced employment of Cat within the organization. Cat blamed Rezz for what happened to her parents and herself. Rezz, who was already under a considerable amount of stress, couldn’t handle the guilt and sadness on top of the stress and feelings of betrayal and completely lost it. Rezz snapped and attacked a fellow member of IE, Unleashed Force, whom Rezz didn’t care too much about at the time, and got Run Riot and other members of IE involved. Run Riot attempted to end the conflict between the two, but would be dragged into the conflict itself, the result of which ultimately led to the destruction of the base entirely and the loss of Run Riot’s power. After the dust settled and everything returned to ‘normal’, Rezz was overcome with guilt for what had happened to Cat, Run, and IE in general.
[edit] Unleashed Force
Rezz and Clint have not always been friends. Rezz despised Clint, but kept it under wraps, as Rezz was still fairly new to the group and didn’t want to start any drama. However, that faithful night, Clint had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it set Rezz off, making Clint a target. Rezz’s feelings finally came pouring out. The rant itself can be found below and sums up how Rezz felt better than anything that could be said here.
“You're the embodiment of what is so wrong with the world today. You're the pretentious, asshole football jock that so many teen-movie antagonists are modeled after... But, just as in the movies, you always get what's coming to you. You've fooled so many people in to being your friend, hiding who you really are behind your pathetic little mask of charisma and confidence. You're shit, Clint. Shit. So you can catch a fucking football. APES can catch a football, and yet you and your whole tribe of NFL flunkies are held to such a high fucking esteem. Children look up to you and those like you. High school kids want to be you. They hold you above everybody else on the planet and label you heroes... and for what? Because you can throw and run with a fucking ball on national television?! There are doctors out there, saving lives, curing diseases. Geologists, spending their entire lives researching ways to predict earthquakes. These people are dedicating their existence to making the world a better place, and does anybody take notice? No, because they're too busy gawking at you and your mediocre 'talent' on their goddamn idiot boxes. Gathering around their televisions every Sunday, as if to worship you like you were all some kind of Gods? You don't deserve it... You don't deserve -anything-. You and everyone like you are a joke. It's people like you that are the downfall of society... Why would any child want to be a doctor, or a scientist, when they can be a rock star? Why spend time studying or trying to make the world a better place when you can spend it playing useless sports, partying, or fucking whore after whore after whore? Why bother trying to help anyone else when you can help yourself? Why would you change the world when you can just fuck it, one sleazy woman at a time?! You don't deserve friends... It's people like me that sit in the labs, in the classrooms, working our asses off to try to improve the world today, and for what? So Cavemen like you can sit in your ivory towers and soak up the glory you didn't earn. Fuck you, Clint. You're a terrible person and I hope you fucking rot.”
Both Clint and Rezz have patched things up since then and are now relatively good friends.
[edit] Amanda Vertra continued
On a seemingly peaceful evening, Rezz would be in his home catching up on a bit of reading when there would be a sudden knock on his door. Rezz was shocked to see Vi at his home and couldn’t quite understand why. She seemed to be looking for someone, but wouldn’t say who or why. Eventually, Vi would explain that she was looking for her cousin, Kimber McBride whom Rezz had been in a relationship with at one point. Vi was drunk, angry, and belligerent. She was quickly wearing down Rezz’s patience and understanding, barraging him with a slew of insults, even going as far as attacking him, not an attempt on his life, but an attack out of drunken rage. He'd had enough. Long gone were the days of being taken advantage of. Pouring his heart out, working around the clock to help others, only to be walked on and treated as a pushover. Rezz would snap again, allowing his darker side to come out once more. Rezz killed her that night. He didn’t feel regret. He didn’t feel remorse. He felt free. His life was changed forever. He’d taken the life of an innocent and there was no turning back. There was no lying about who he was. He wasn’t a freedom fighter. He wasn’t a revolutionary. Rezz is a monster and a murderer, and he’d finally come to terms with the fact.
[edit] The Ministry of Order
"If you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself." Rezz had long grown tired of finding a worthy group to house the power of both his body and mind. After a few weeks of complaining to various friends and associates alike, it was suggested by Nidhoggur, still a relatively new acquaintance of Rezz’s, to put together his own organization, tailored to fit his unique needs and goals. After a lengthy discussion with his closest of allies, The Ministry of Order was born. With Rezz leading and Nidhoggur as second in command, the group slowly began to make a name for itself, steadily growing in membership as time went on. Using his own notoriety and affiliation with Inevitable Evolution to his advantage, the groups message of power through knowledge reached it’s intended audience. The Ministry of Order continues to grow and work towards its goals, actively seeking only the best and brightest, most powerful minds the Etoile Isles has to offer.
((Note: After merging MoO with IE in an attempt to save the latter, and my eventual departure to Champions Online, MoO had since been taken over by some group of scrubs and made into.. well... a group of scrubs. Rezz shares no relation to this scrubby group or the atrocity they created out of a once totally awesome super group.))
[edit] Sky-Scar
Why Rezz wastes time on this nuisance is anyone’s guess. Rezz honestly views Robin as ‘small time’ and see’s any and all interaction with the boy on par with stepping in a discarded, chewed piece of gum: Aggravating as hell and completely avoidable. This mentality, coupled with the multiple attempts Robin has made to kill Rezz, the idea of which Rezz finds laughable, have done little to give Rezz a reason to let Robin continue existing. When there seemed to be a public outcry for the death of Robin by more than a few associates of his, Rezz decided to answer the call, though the task proved more difficult than expected. Rezz’s confrontations with Robin seemed to draw a lot of attention, mostly from nosy heroes and friends of Robin who felt the need to get involved. This caused a chain reaction, as those who would get in the way would, more times than not, be put in harms’ way, which in turn caused more people to butt in. Thus, the situation with Robin went from a seemingly simple kill, to testing friendships of groups and coalitions alike. Torn between those who would like to see Robin dead, and those self-righteous, ignorant bleeding hearts who would object to it. The situation has since become much less severe, as Rezz has ceased his attempts on Robins life at the suggestion of Aeslehc, who works directly under Rezz in The Ministry of Order. Robin is bound to Aes by some sort of blood pact and must obey her every command, and in turn, obey Rezz’s every command. Rezz would still very much like to see Robin die, but seems to have settled for this temporary solution.
((Note: This shit be outdated, son. Chances are, I won't be able to update it with any recent or relevant information. Oh, wait. Except for this...))
[edit] Abandonment
Amidst a crisis near the end of summer 2009, Rezz simply dropped everything and disappeared without a trace. His location would remain a mystery for months, until finally, he'd deemed it appropriate to make a brief return to explain his situation: he was utterly exhausted and in need of a long break from not only his own problems, but the stress of dealing with the issues of others. He'd proclaimed his awareness of just how selfish such an act was, having left much unfinished business, including all of Inevitable Evolution, not to mention his 'friends'. He didn't seem to care in the least... and truth be told, he absolutely did not. He needed a bit of time to think over a few things... To get his priorities in order... And he would do just that, paying very little mind to the thoughts, opinions, and worries of others. This was his time, and he would take as long as was needed.
Needless to say, it payed off... and Rezz believes he is ready for a fresh start.
[edit] Opinions From Friends and Enemies Alike
((Add what your characters think of Rezz in this area... It'll give me something to read and feel warm and fuzzy about while I'm at work :3))
"Doesn't quite look like plushie material? 'course he's plushie material, sugar! I've got the 'classic' Rezz, Four Food Groups Rezz, Chinese New Year Rezz, Read or Die (no, really) Rezz.... I've got a stuffed Rezz for every occasion, with witty sayings sure to scare your kids into tossin' their video games in the recycle bin." - Chelsea Miller
"Even the wisest man needs a little voice of direction in his ear now and then. And he is quite wise. A lesser man would have shunned advice in favor of his ego. Not this one... he listens quite well to my whispers ...between innuendo, of course. Oh yeeeees, innuendo... he would say I've no shame. And I won't disagree. But when faced with such a delectable bit of lizard tail... I just can't help myself." - Aeslehc
"Rezzy's ... like... way too smart. I mean, he's awesome and I love him like crazy and all that... and I REALLY wouldn't want him as an enemy... but man... I get headaches sometimes talking to him." - Ani Reaves
"A fine man and employer. If he has fault or drawback, I've yet to notice. More than anyone in this world, I respect Mr. Rezz. When he is angry... I am angry. When he is melancholy... I am melancholy. When he is unhappy with me, I feel as though I've caused a bit of the world to atrophy and die. Whatever happens between us, I will always consider Mr. Rezz to be one of my greatest friends. - Ryna Chyld
"Quite possibly the most eloquent being I've come across in this festering dystopia. I've been enjoying working with him and his Order. He's not afraid to crush the impudent, nor is he afraid of disrupting the foundation of the world with speech alone. Mr. Rezz has my respect, and my allegiance." -Nalrok Ath'Zim
"Rezz is big and scary, but he's actually a nice guy down at heart. He's very intelligent, and it's great being able to work with him." -Purge Initiation
"Rezz iz aws'm. D'ment'dly aws'm. I sure miss'im. 'E w'z a lotta fun back wh'n 'e w'z aroun'. 'S about all I c'n say 'bout 'im, an' I wish'im luck with 'iz own brand 'a chaos." - Ink Dyne
"Y'know, after all of the giant, invincible lizard men I've taken down, I figured Rezz wouldn't be any different. Boy, was I wrong." - Operative Lucenia
"Rezz... is a great guy. I honestly don't know what I do without him around. He's one of the only people I trust completely, and he will always have a special place in my heart. - Abi Normal
"I could totally take him. You know, cause that's what we're supposed to say. I'm a hero, he's a villain, gotta keep the insults and pride goin. But, there's a few things I've learned.. Show respect and it'll be shown back. Show yourself friendly and it'll be shown back. And quite frankly he's been there more than most hero folks I know, and a tonne more civil. Maybe I'm being biased, maybe I've been hard to reach.. I dunno. But he's there, and so far he's been reliable. At first I thought his beliefs, goals, and ambitions were just selfish and sinister motivations, I'm still not sure how he wound up on the wrong side of the fence given what I know now. Weird when your perceptions change about someone to the point where you go from looking down on them to respecting them.. But he's got some strength of character, integrity, and dignity. I respect him, still sounds weird to say." - Giga Gal
"In a word, he's dysfunctional. If you're unsure what I mean by that, grab a dictionary. Rezz doesn't fit in with the rest of the world, and I'm referring to more than just his massive stature. Something is wired differently in his brain, and the result is a man with a vision, who isn't afraid to pit himself against all authorities in order to make his dream a reality. Rezz certainly isn't without his flaws, of course; but despite his phobias and complete inability grasp even the basic principles of magic, he is one of only a few people who I trust, and I am glad to call him my friend." - Nidhoggur
[edit] Trivia
- Rezz can often be seen standing around watching people do what they do. People watching is not only a hobby for him, but it helps him to learn a bit more about human nature, far more than any book ever could, and why they do what they do.
- Unless he has business with someone, Rezz will never approach another person, or attempt to initiate a conversation, unless it's just to greet a familiar face in passing. Some view it as having a superiority complex, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Rezz is just inexperienced in social situations and making small talk, but is open to making new friends and learning about them. It just takes a little coaxing to get him out of his shell.
- Only sleeps 1-3 hours a night, if at all.
- Wears face mask to correct various minor respiratory problems.
- Can’t stand dirty environments, or the feel of being dirty.
- Is often called a 'Workaholic'. He denies nothing.
- Doesn’t wear too many shirts, as his many spikes and massive wings make it more of a hassle than it's worth.
- Rezz goes commando.
- Boots are plated with thick impervium. Each boot weighs about 120 pounds.
- Has never broken a bone in his body, nor had an open flesh wound or even bled.
